The Four Dark Warriors

The scene will shift over to Zog's throne room. Jade appears well from the beginning. Zog seems pleased about how his plans are progressing, but then asks about the incident in Prima. He will suspect the Light Dragon's involvement, and command Jade to destroy them and bring him the Goddess Keys. Though Zog seems a bit pushy, Jade obeys and exits the throne room. Outside, he is greeted with his top four lieutenants. Each of them gives Jade a comment on the situation, and then he passes the responsibility of collecting the Goddess Keys and dispatching the Light Dragons to them. After the four disappear, Jade will walk on a bit further, and then ponder on where the "Dragon of Light" could be.

Prima

Fortunately, the blast released from the General was not close enough to destroy Prima. When you attempt to leave, Gobi will try to tag along. He claims that since you still owe him money, he will follow you wherever you go until it is paid. Karn realizes the real motive of this, and tries to persuade Gobi to admit the real reason on why he wants to journey with the party. Gobi will deny saying anything, and the party then automatically leaves Prima. However, not long after, Gobi will claim he's missing something! Head back to the Guild in Prima to find out what!

The Sphere

When you get to the Guild, talk to the Guild Owner. He'll then mention something about a "sphere", and push a button that drops two blue chests on the floor. Open both of them to recieve a MystSF and the Sphere. Equip the MystSF on Nina. With the Sphere in hand, Gobi can now turn into a fish on the Underwater World Map! Buy anything you need from town, save, and then exit.

Underwater World Map

Put Gobi in the lead, and then press the "talk button". If you have the Sphere, he will transform into a fish. While Gobi is in this state, the party cannot be attacked by monsters. Do note that Gobi can only be a fish underwater (makes sense, doesn't it?). When this is done, swim up to the Undersea Volcano, and head west. You should now be able to pass the chasm and sail out to a wide, new area of the underwater region! This is it folks, the last area to explore underwater. There are some very useful side events you can accomplish from here. If you intend to stay on task, head northwest of the chasm until you come across a shoreline. Call this the "Gust Shoreline" if you will. Have Gobi transform back into a small fish, and then head up the shoreline.

World Map

You'll notice that the world music has changed! Congratulations! You have completed about 2/3 of the game. However, do not get cocky, you still have a ways to go. There are some familiar enemies you can meet here, like the Chimera and M. Scorp. The newest of the bunch is the Warlock, which can come in pairs and sometimes with Zombies. He can cast T. Bolt spells, but he shouldn't be a problem if you have everyone attack during the first round. You recieve 1440EP/540GP if you are able to wipe him in one round. Anyway, from the shoreline, head northeast and enter the town you see. Welcome to Gust.

  • Unlike many other towns, Gust really has no treasures besides the Sash in the drawer of the Inn. On the second horizontal row of houses from the entrance, however, is the flutemaker's house. He is acting a bit weird right now, but be reassured he'll be useful after you dispatch of whatever is ailing him. You can also get Karn's second fusion spell, Debo, under the flutemaker's house. Simply push the box crate to reveal a hole in the ground. You should fall into an area where the man with Karn's second fusion is. Simply push the barrels to reach him. Debo is an underwater fusion, which means he can only be used underwater. It fuses Ox and Gobi, along with Karn, into a super underwater form. Though he is used for underwater combat, I prefer Shin, since his attack pretty much matches Debo's, and he can be used both underwater and on land. Nevertheless, getting Debo has that sense of "completeness", so pick him up if you're not too lazy. The flutemaker isn't the only one acting crazy, others in the town are dancing and saying some weird things! The Weapon and Item shop are located on the east side of town. There are some nifty equipment you can buy from the Weapon Shop, but they are expensive. After stocking up on supplies- make sure to save- and exit the town through its northern exit (which is directly north from the southern entrance).

    World Map

You'll appear outside of town. It looks like things are in the clear from here on out, but when you try to continue on north, you'll enter a new area.

    Gust's Field

In the middle of the field, you should see a flower surrounded by buds spewing out pollen. If you step on one of the buds, you will spin around and then those weird words will come flying out. This flower might be the reason for all the craziness in Gust! It is not possible to take this thing out yet, so walk past it and open the blue door you find. This is Gust's Dungeon; prepare to meet some of the most abnormal things inside!

  • It's pretty gloomy inside. There are a variety of new enemies here that will greet you. The first is the Mimic, which has a high defense and natural resistance vs. physical attacks. This being the case, you should have everyone try to use attack items or magic. It can cast many magical status spells, some which include Paralyze, Curse, and Redirect. If you can defeat it, you'll recieve around 2081EP/7804GP. Undoubtly, the Mimic is your best bet for money if you want it. However, do note that it is a pretty rare encounter at times. A familiar enemy is the LancerX from Nabal Dungeon. Instead of coming solo, he has brought his pair of friends making them a thick trio. They really are nothing to fear, since they can be wiped with a few attacks from Ryu and the gang. Their damage value can range from 20-30HP damage from each of them. If you are able to overcome them, they give around 1951EP/326GP, which is an "ok" amount of experience. Another enemy is the Blaze, which looks like a big pile of flames with one eyeball in the middle. He's pretty fast, and can cast Curse and BurnOut, doing around 34HP damage vs. the party- so watch out. His regular attack can swipe for about 30HP damage vs. one character. Because of his relatively high HP amount, it will probably take two rounds to wipe this guy out. Ice spells help, so be sure to use them if you can. Your reward for beating this guy over one round is 1290EP/540GP. There will be other enemies to encounter as you move to different parts of this dungeon, so beware. For the time being, if you walk up a bit north from the entrance, you should spot two chests, one on each side. When you try to go over and access both chests, a monster called the Rogue will stop you. These creatures could be called sub-bosses. They have a very low defense, making physical attacks your best bet against them. Even Nina hits them for a good deal of damage! Just watch out for its breath attack, which does around 30HP damage vs. the party. It's slow, so healing won't be a problem if you need it. It drops around 3277EP/1560GP per each kill. Anyway, the left chest contains a Herb, while the right, a Cure2. If I were you, I'd just pick up the Cure2, since the Herb isn't really worth fighting over unless you want the extra EP and GP. After you're done collecting the treasures you want, head further north, and you should see two more chests. The chest in the middle of the three rooms contains a L. Ptn, while the chest on the right has a Rod4. Both treasures are worth collecting, since the Rod4 can help in pulling out better fish in various fishing spots. On the other hand, if you picked up the Rod5 from Tunlan (see side event 1 on this page), then there is really no need to pick up the Rod4. Both chests are guarded by Rogues, so be prepared to fight for them. After you're done collecting the treasures, head east, where you should come across three passageways that act as shortcuts. Only the middle passageway isn't guarded by a Rogue, so unless you like fighting, take that path. Have Ox smash the wall, and then head north, up the staircase you come across. In the next area, you will be stopped by Cort. An image of his face will be shown (kind of creepy), and he'll throw a sort of potion on you that will cause you to shrink (I'm surprised he doesn't just kill you by stepping on you). You can't go down the staircases in your small state, so head far northeast until you come across this mouse hole (it can be hard to see). Inside, follow the passageway until you come to this small village of mice. Just to be safe, talk to every single mouse. However, if you have a good eye, you only have to talk to the mouse by the pine rocks (rocks that have sharp edges pointing up), and the mouse to the left of him will move up so you can enter the passageway. When that happens, enter the passageway and follow the path. The only enemy you can meet in here is the Roach, which is quite fast and will probably get the first attack- dealing around 20 or so HP damage. They can come in pairs or solo, so expect it. Fortunately, it dies quickly to attacks, so when your attack turns come, it will be down for the count. Defeating one nets you 690EP/300GP. It seems the mice are having a little cockroach problem, and who none other then you decides to help them out! The main task is to keep heading north, where you should come across a room full of cheese (must be the mice's food supply), with three red cockroaches. Make sure you're all healed up, and confront the trio.

    K. Roach (X3)

This is a rather simple battle- if you know what you're doing. Each of the K. Roaches have a second wind, which can be reached in under 999HP damage. When their winds initiate, the whole round resets. That can get annoying, but you'll live through it. However, after their wind comes around, it will be awhile before they are all knocked down. Each of them can deal 23HP damage to one party member. If they decide to gang up on a character, or focusing on one, then it can spill trouble (the total damage all 3 deal together is around 65HP+ damage). This being the case, a person's HP shouldn't drop below 50- 70 if you want to play it safe. A party consisting of Bleu, Nina, Ryu, and Karn as Shin is recommended. Bleu can hit all the K. Roaches at once with her Chill spell, while Ryu transforms into BltDgn to do the same method. If Ryu has not obtained BltDgn, then have him just attack with the B. Rang for a more effective approach. Shin, as usual, should focus on one creature into it is down. For your troubles, you recieve only 1380EP/600GP.

    Afterwards

Head back to the mouse village and talk to the mouse by the pine rocks. He will thank you for your help, and open the passageway behind him in order for you to enter. You can rest up here if you want to. Once you get the M. Cura, you can no longer enter here. When you are ready, head up the passageway, grab the Herb from the right chest, and the M. Cura from the left. Once you obtain the M. Cura, the party will quickly head outside the mouse cave and grow back to their original size. Go down the staircase west of the mouse hole. In the next area, you'll be in a room somewhat like the Wizard's room in Karma. There are two new types of enemies you can meet here. The first is Peril, which is an upgraded form of Gloom. It is weak vs. ice attacks, so having Bleu use Chill will nail in nicely. It is slow, but if you allow it to make its move, it may use its BurnOut spell, which does 25HP damage vs. all characters. Its physical attack can hit for 34HP damage vs. one character. Defeating three can net you 3240EP/630GP. The next enemy on the "new list" is the D. Knight. It is slow, like Peril, but can cast Curse and Deflect and hit for around 30HP damage to one character. It really isn't a big deal, but will take you about two rounds to beat, giving you 1014EP/390GP. With the enemy overview done with, ride the platform by the staircase to the north. Follow the path on the next spot to find yourself riding another platform. At this platform's destination point, choose to go south and ride the platform you find there. When you finally reach the area in the center of the room, ride the northern platform to find yourself face to face with Cort and his monster, RugaX.

    RugaX

This guy is fairly easy- hitting a character per round for about 50HP damage. Just keep hitting him for all you got and he'll go down quickly. There really is no strategy involved then hit and heal- you should heal if your HP drops below 50. When you beat this guy, you'll recieve 4162EP/3121GP and be in for a surprise.

    !!!!Victory!!!!

With RugaX on the floor, Cort will retreat, but give you somewhat of a threat about his flower. Afterwards, RugaX will fade away, revealing it was actually a boy transformed into a monster by the Flower! Nina will attempt to cure this mysterious boy, but to no avail. Bleu will comment on how weak Nina's magic is, and the party will carry him off to the village. Nina will get a bit upset, and then follow.

    The Quest for Oil

Back at Gust, you'll find out that the boy's name is Nicholie. A woman will come and blame you for what has happened to Nicholie. Nina will apologize for the party's actions, and Bleu says she can help him, but needs some frog oil. Bleu will then hasten the party's progress by shouting at them for just standing there. The surprised party will then run out of Gust, looking for the frog oil. Actually, one thing you should know is that you can't get the Oil without a G. Fly, and where can you find one of those? There is a cave hole in the town of Gust northwest of the southern entrance. Surprisingly, if you talk to the guy beside the cave hole, he'll tell you that this fly took his lunch! Hurry inside, and follow the path to encounter the G. Fly! He's what you want, but he's not going down without a fight!

    G. Fly

Your party should be currently around Level 22, so you may be in trouble if they're below that. This guy is pretty much a pushover, since he's alone and only attacks. Do be aware that he hits rather hard- ranging from 30HP-50HP damage vs. one character. Nina should do the usual and heal anyone's HP that gets below 50HP, and casting Atk-Up and Fort spells on the appropriate characters. Karn should be in his Shin form and attack, while Ox attacks and Ryu transforms into BltDgn and then attacking. If you choose to use Bo, have him attack. With Gobi, if you use him, it might be best for him to use the ThrDr or FlameRP if his attack is still not strong. His lifebar goes down fast, initiating his second wind, "No Effect." The catch of this is that his power grows a great deal- which means he'll deal more damage. However, he goes down quite quickly. You recieve a nice reward of 7284EP/8325GP for taking him out.

    !!!Victory!!!

The G. Fly will then lay dorment on the cheese, letting you take it. After obtaining the G. Fly, save and exit Gust.

    World Map

Head back down to the Gust shore, and go underwater.

    Underwater World Map

Have Gobi turn into a fish, and head southeast. Make sure he doesn't cross the chasm. You should come across this area that is like a circle, and there are pine rocks blocking a small way in. Luckily, Gobi can swim past that. Go up the shore.

    World Map

    Enter the cave you see.

    Frog Cave

If you have the G. Fly, talk to the Frog directly north of the entrance, between the pine rocks, to recieve the frog oil! Hurry back to Gust.

    Gust

Head into the house where Nicholie is staying and talk to Bleu. She will then give Nicholie the medicine. He wakes up for minute, and warns you about the Flower in Gust's Field. Bleu orders you to dispatch of the Flower, and takes out her crystal ball. For some odd reason, the ball explodes, and Bleu senses it is a sign of a bad omen for things to come. However, with some unusual confidence, she assures the party there is nothing to worry about. Bleu gave you some orders, so it is your duty to follow them! In the village, stock up on any supplies you may need, and be sure to save. When you're ready, exit the town through its northern exit.

    World Map

You should continue north into Gust's Field.

    Gust's Field

When you arrive to take a look at the Flower, you'll find that it has grown a few limbs of its own! Not only that, but Cort is with it! Being the coward he is, Cort will send it out to attack you.

    FlowerX

FlowerX can hit for around 60HP+ damage, and commonly uses a spore to Poison a character. However, if you set up Ryu's BltDgn and Karn is in his Shin state, its spore attack will be a waste of a turn if it uses it on them. If anyone becomes poisoned, make sure they are healed from it as soon as possible (asap). Rather then that, have Ryu do his usual attack in his dragon state, while Karn (Shin) and Ox attack. Nina should cast Fort, on herself especially, and Atk-Up on the physical attackers (Ryu's dragon attack does NOT benefit from this spell). If you choose to use Bo or Gobi, then have Bo attack while Gobi uses attack items if his attack doesn't do any good. Nina should use her free turns (round where no one needs healing, etc.) for attack items vs. FlowerX. Eventually, FlowerX will reach its second wind, "FlowerX got up," where one round of pure attacking will finish it off like that. You recieve 3200EP/3000GP as your reward- a rather cheap one.

    !!!!Victory!!!!

Although Cort is angry about the destruction of his FlowerX, he restrains himself from getting too upset. He decides to let you go, and disappears. Nina will suggest to the party that they go see how the townspeople in Gust are doing, since FlowerX has been destroyed. Take her advice, and head back to Gust.

    Gust

    Gust's Treasures

  • Maestro
  • You'll find the townspeople all back to normal, thanks to you! It seems everything is back in its sane state now, but go check on Nicholie. You may want to save before you enter his house- for safety measures. Upon entering Nicholie's house, you'll find Bleu and Tina, a friend of Nicholie's, by the door. If you look carefully enough, you'll find Nicholie back in his RugaX form, running around the house! Bleu will admit she messed up yet again, and Tina will apologize for misunderstanding you before. She will then ask you to bring Nicholie back to his normal state. Upon these words, Nicholie comes rampaging up, near the party, and begins his assault!

    RugaX

If you had leveled a bit from last time, then RugaX's attacks will doe around 35HP damage. He is slow, like last time, and will go down as fast. Ryu should transform into BltDgn and attack, while Shin and Ox attack. Although it isn't necessary, Nina could use Atk-Up and Fort spells on the party. If you choose to use Bo- have him attack. With Gobi, just have him use attack items if his physical attack can't dent him hard enough. RugaX, like last time, has no second wind. So once he is down, it's for good. You recieve 4162EP/3121GP for this second skirmish.

    !!!!Victory!!!!

Once RugaX is down for the count, Bleu will cast a spell that transforms Nicholie back into his normal state. At first, the spell seems to have actually killed Nicholie (or petrified him), but he'll eventually come to. After coming to the realization of his normal state, Nicholie will thank the party, and hurry on to fix the bridge by Gust's Dungeon. Tina will thank you, and offer you a place to rest. Once the party is fixed up, exit Nicholie's house, and head into the house a short northeast of it, or the second house on your left from the southern entrance of Gust. This house belongs to the flutemaker, an old man who carries the Maestro. This item is used to communicate with the people of Tunlan. First talk to him to make him stop spinning around. He'll inform you that the Maestro is under his bed. From that information, walk into the bed in the room, and press the "talk button" to recieve the Maestro (you MUST be IN the BED while pressing the 'talk button' to obtain it). Now that you have obtained one of the necessary items to fluently talk to Tunlan's people, buy anything you need in town, and save. When you're ready, head into Gust's Field (or the place where you fought FlowerX).

    Gust's Field

Keep going up north, until you reach the area with the bridge crossing. You should spot Nicholie lying on the bridge. Before you go see what is wrong with him, be sure you have plenty of healing items and that you saved beforehand in the village. If your party is in the best condition it can possibly be, then go investigate what has happened to Nicholie. Cort will then block your path, and say a few words. He will then transform into HornToad, the toughest boss you've faced yet.

    HornToad

HornToad has been said to be a pretty tough character, and rightfully so. His high HP makes this battle long and rough, while his physical can deal high amounts of damage- especially to Bleu and Nina- if not properly equipped. A must for these casters is the AngleAR, which can be bought at Gobi's Shop. This fine piece of armor raises Bleu's and Nina's defense dramatically. Without it, HornToad has the chance of one-hitting them to death. With it on, he does around 22-23HP damage. This amount of damage is close to the other characters as well. A blessing about this boss is that he's relatively slow, allowing you to heal if everyone gets hurt too bad. We've talked about what he can do to the party, now it's their turn. Ryu should transform into BltDgn and keep hitting him with his attack, which Karn should be in the form of Shin and attack. Bleu should use Chill, while Nina casts the support spells and heals the necessary characters. I recommend having her use cure spells when someone's HP drops below 50. Ox could substitute a caster for his attack. As for Bo or Gobi, they can be used, but it may be risky. If you use Bo, have him attack. With Gobi, he should use attack items- same for Nina if she gets a free turn from healing and casting support spells. The real danger lies during HornToad's second wind, when he gets mad. At this point, he starts jumping on the ground, causing an earthquake to damage the party for around 15HP-30HP damage. If the whole party gets hurt bad, then try to use Meat or have everyone heal that turn. With patience and endurance, HornToad will go where all bosses have gone. Your reward is a pleasing 6800EP/7000GP.

    !!!!Victory!!!!

Cort will whine about his defeat, and then explode. Congratulations, you have defeated one of Jade's lieutenants! Nicholie will then bid you farewell. It seems like you've been in Gust a pretty long time, but it is time to move on. If you must save or stock up on supplies back at Gust, then do so. When everything is set, walk west across the bridge, and take note of the good you did in Gust.

    World Map

Finally, a new land! Before going further, if you are interested in side events then check out this page. There are some familiar enemies like the D. Knight to be concerned about, as well as uncommon ones like the Crab and Zoom. The Crab doesn't hit that hard, and can be whalloped down easily with a few connecting attacks. You obtain 1530EP/540GP for defeating this foe. The newest, and probably most dangerous enemy you can meet is the Zoom, which usually comes in threes and can cast spells like Chill which does around 60HP damage to the entire party! Its physical attack hits for around 20HP damage. If you are able to defeat these menacing foes as a trio, then you'll recieve 3600EP/900GP in one round. With the knowledge of the enemies, you should first begin walking southwest and then head straight west when you can. When you come across a dirt area (you can tell the difference by comparing the land's color), head towards its middle, and you should see a mole girl with her head popped out of this hole in the ground. When you approach her, she'll disappear. This is the game's signal saying, 'hey, follow me, it's part of the story!' type of deal. When you head down the hole in the ground, you'll find yourself in the mole village of Gramor.

    Gramor

    Gramor's Treasures

  • Cowl
  • From what I've seen and done, Gramor has no shops or inns. It does, however, have a Dragon Statue in the hole right of the staircase entrance for you to save at. Your main focus during the first arrival to Gramor is entering the doorway north of the entrance you can see the girl by. When you get close, she'll enter the room herself. Inside the room, talk to the girl you followed to learn that her brother, Mogu, has been cast under a spell by Mote. Mogu is the little guy sleeping in bed in the corner of the room. If you talk to the other two guys that are away from the bed in the room, you'll learn more about how Mogu is trapped in the Dream World. If you talk to the mole next to where Mogu is resting, he'll tell you about how you need an item from Tunlan to enter Mogu's dream. When he asks you if you're willing to help them out, be hearty and reply with a yes. Assuming that your inventory is not full, he will give you the Cowl, an item allowing the user to communicate to the people of Tunlan. With the Cowl and Maestro both in hand, you are now ready to venture into Tunlan, home of the orchestral folk.

    World Map

You're probably wondering where you should go to find Tunlan now. You must warp back to Gust, and head down the shore in its region (it is the shore you had to go up in order to reach Gust).

    Underwater World Map

Be aware that you need both the Cowl, from Gramor, and the Maestro, from Gust, to communicate and comprehend the people of Tunlan. From Gust's shore, you should head south until you reach a body of land that looks circular shaped. Go up its shore.

  • Tunlan has four main levels: the first level contains an Inn and Dragon Shrine; the second level has an Item and Weapon shop, an empty room, and a flea market where Gobi can set up shop; level three has one room where there is a woman that looks strikingly identical to Nina; and Tunlan Castle, which houses the Rod5, is on the fourth level. You should keep in mind of the person that looks like Nina, for she will come in handy. As for the Flea Market, it does not matter where Gobi sets up his shop; he has the same opportunities and offers at both Tunlan and Prima flea markets. The castle contains some good treasures, including the item for Mogu you seek. You can talk to anybody you want to in town for interesting tidbits. When you're ready, enter Tunlan's Castle on the fourth level.

  • In the castle, talk to the green cloaked lady that is blocking the staircase, north of the entrance. If you have the Cowl and Maestro, you should be able to understand her just fine. She asks the party what they want, and they explain their position. Luckily, it seems the woman has a problem of her own, and offers an exchange of favors: if you help her out with her conflict, she will give you the Bolster, the item that allows people to enter other's dreams. Respond to this offer by saying yes. The woman will then tell you of how the Princess plans to give away the TmKey, one of the goddess kings, in exchange for eternal life along with Zog. Obviously, the Princess has gone a bit whacko. Your mission is to convince the princess of the mistake she is making by doing this. The woman then allows you to go upstairs and talk with her. If it is daytime, then go up the staircase; you won't be allowed to see her at night. When you talk to the Princess, she will brush off your attempts to convince her to change; it seems the she won't budge no matter what! When you go back downstairs, the green cloaked woman will be blocking the way. She admits that she had thought that words alone couldn't have convinced the Princess, but made you try anyway. She will the mention something about the Princess's marks, and bid you follow her up the staircase to your right. Before following her, head onto the World Map, and use the DkKey or HrGlas if is daytime (which most likely it is). Once day turns into night, reenter Tunlan's Castle and head up the staircase the woman went up earlier. Upstairs, if you walk a bit past the next staircase you see, you should spot a cracked wall. Go through that hole in the wall, and align yourself directly vertical with the Princess you can see in the water. Make sure you are aligned vertical with her, and are in between two of the palm trees. It is pretty easy to find the location where you are supposed to stand. Make sure you are facing her back, and press the 'talk button'. A message will pop up listing the color of the marks on her back. This is the password to the safe holding the TmKey! Hurry on down the staircase nearest the cracked wall (or the one you didn't go down yet). Downstairs, you'll see the woman in front of the chest. Before you talk to her, note that if you try to collect the chests in the left or right corners, you'll be pushed down a hole by the stone statue. You can obtain the Rod5 under a box if you allow yourself to be pushed down the hole in front of the chest to your left. However, if you already visited Tunlan before, you need not concern yourself with that. Talk to the green cloaked woman, and follow her directions. After noticing that something is not right, she will realize that you had seen the marks on the Princess's back as a reflection! Before you can correct your mistake, the stone statues will block the way, and the Princess, along with four of her guards, comes to investigate the matter. The woman will express her disfavor to the Princess's actions in giving the TmKey to the Dark Dragons. Still refusing, she will order her guard's to arrest the group. Bleu will then take matters into her own hands and attempt to destroy the safe. There will then be a white screen and a handful of crazy comments. Once the smoke clears, you'll find that Cerl, one of Jade's lieutenants, has the TmKey in her hand! The Princess will jump for joy, and ask Cerl to grant her eternal youth. Cerl will such stand there, looking dumbfounded. Bleu will comment, and a war of words will follow. Sit back and click your 'talk button', as the battle intenses, and there is a huge catfight. Ryu and Karn will just stand there, enjoying the fireworks. Bleu will then end the battle by casting a powerful spell on the whole area. The party will then awaken, in bed, and find the Princess to still be in shock. Once the green cloaked woman says her last few words, head on over to the safe and collect the treasures. You should come out on top with a a nice bag of treats: M. Drop, 2 Melons, and the Bolster! You have accomplished what you had come for! Head back to Gramor when you're set.

    Gramor

Enter Mogu's room and talk to the person beside Mogu again. When he asks you if you're ready to enter Mogu's dream (you must have the Bolster in your inventory), answer yes only if you're fully equipped with the best stuff you can find and have plenty of items; you may want to save as well. Once you agree to journey into the Dream World, it will be lights out for you.

Being the heroes you are, your mission is to destroy it. After exiting the house, you will find yourself in a pleasant village full of Mogu's attributes! It seems courage is the only attribute missing; you will find out more about it later. There is an item shop and inn in one of the houses if you wish to purchase anything or rest. When you're ready, save at the Dragon Shrine, and exit the Dream Village.

    Dream World Map

Outside, things look pretty weird, but don't let that faze you. There are a bundle of enemies you can meet around this area, which include some familiar faces. There are the D. Knights, which can be taken out with a combo of 9.5 from Bleu, a FlameRP from Nina, and an attack using Ryu and Karn. You recieve your usual first round reward of 2340EP/900GP for beating a pair. The next easy enemy is the Buzzer, which will hardly last a round from an attack. They sometimes come grouped with WraithX, which is the next enemy on your list. They can cast things like Ag-Up and Ag-Down, which is basically a waste of a turn for them. Like all undead monsters, they are weak vs. fire and holy attacks. If Bleu has it handy, she could use Char to take them out quickly and nicely. They are slow, so it is possible to take them out without being speared. A trio of them and one Buzzer leaves a reward of around 2042EP/1001GP. The last face you may meet is the Chimera, which can be taken out easily. With your head full of different types of monsters, take the path to the east, and head north until you come across North Tower.

  • There are really no new enemies that you can meet here. The Warlock and D. Knight will attempt to team up as the ultimate caster and attacker team, but you are more than a match for them. Simply do you usual stuff with the B. Rang and magical attacks to knock them both down. They drop around 2670EP/990GP. Another familiar enemy from the LtKeep and Nabal is the Chopper, which still hits decently and is fast. However, it can be wiped out with a cast of Bleu's powerful spells- earning you 720EP/450GP. Probably the two toughest opponents are Blaze and Zoom, both potent magic users. The Blaze comes alone, and can do a BurnOut spell which does around 34HP damage vs. the party. It can also cast Curse and is pretty fast- so watch out. Overall, it goes down pretty fast if you lay it with attacks. Your reward for deafeating it is around 1290EP/540GP. The Zoom still likes to come in a trio, and has its dangerous arsenal of spells like Chill and the deadly Shock. Quickly wipe them out with a series of attacks (dealing damage to all preferably) to receive your reward of 3600EP/900GP for three. Now as for the dungeon, if you take the time to pay attention, you will notice that each blue button you step on will cause the walls to disappear. This does not mean the walls are no longer there- you just can't see them. The orange, or yellow, buttons reverses the blue button's effects. I will lead you through the path that is least confusing. From the entrance, step on the blue button you see. Head east, and you should step on an orange button on the way. Follow the path up until you reach another blue button- don't step on it! Turn into the passageway to your left and continue on until you reach a fork, then go north. Take the first southern pathway you come across; continue on west when you come across another fork. Shortly after, take a trip into the eastern passageway you find. This path should eventually take you to a boy blocking the staircase to the next floor. After talking to him, you'll find out that he is the monster, and he will ask whether you want to fight. Reply yes, and he will reply with a cocky offer of allowing you to run from battle if you must. Enough talk, show him what you're made of!

    Mothro

Strangely, Mothro starts out with a tiny lifeline. However, do not let this get you too confident, attack him with all you've got! You will soon discover that when you try to damage this guy, he won't even feel it! It seems something is keeping you from hurting this fellow. Accept the cocky offer (though you may not want to), and run from battle.

    Afterwards

Mothro will jump up and down, declaring his victory. Do not worry, you will get him soon enough. Have Bleu cast her Exit spell to leave the tower quickly.

    Dream World Map

When you near the Dream Village, the mole girl should come into your view. Talk to her to find out that they have located Mogu's last attribute, Courage! Enter the village for more details.

    Dream World Village

Head into the house you first appeared in, and talk to the old mole man. He'll tell you that with Mogu's five attributes combined as one, everyone in the dream can break free of the spell. The missing attribute, Courage, is located in the cave to the south of the village. Now that the bridge to it has been fixed, you can explore that region. Buy any supplies you need from town, and save. When you're ready, exit the Dream World Village.

    Dream World Map

Head west of the village and cross the bridge. From the bridge, head a bit south, and then west. You should spot the cave if you head up a bit north. Attempting to reach the cave will bring you into another area, the Gas Field.

  • One of the new enemies you can meet here is the WarHogX, a purple version of the WarHog you met at the beginning of the game. Unlike its cousin, this guy is much more dangerous, especially when he comes grouped. His BurnOut spell can deal around 68HP damage to all, and with three, that can spell trouble for your team. However, if you use your strongest all-attack spells, combined with the B. Rang and attacks from your fighters, then you should be able to dispose of a few of them in enough time. For a trio, you get 4080EP/1440GP. The second newest enemy is the Wraith, which hits about the same as its cousin, WraithX, and has a relatively low defense. It comes grouped with its cousin, and probably won't get an attack off if you whip out your attacks during the first round. You can recieve 2029EP/1014GP for taking out one of these guys paired with two WraithXs. And do not forget the Zoom, which still has its potent attack spells. As always, it comes usually in a trio. Anyway, with the monster overview done with, let's take a look at the dungeon. Make sure that the lead character never touches the skulls or edges of the Gas Field, for it will cause a loss of 1HP. There is no need to worry about the gas popping randomly everywhere, for it is harmless. Follow the path from the entrance until you reach a fork. Take a u-turn around the bones above you and head west to obtain the LightSH for Nina or Bleu. Don't take the path that heads directly west, for it is a deadend. The path to the northeast, which you must take, leads further into the dungeon. When you head deeper into this path, make sure you stay heading directly west until stopped by a gas fume. From this point forth, there will be invisible gases you cannot see that pop up out of the ground if you attempt to step in the area they are located. Go around the lone bone clump by the gas fume that stopped you and follow the path to pick up a Life and Headgear. Northwest of the bone clump is the exit. Through a series of trial and errors, you should be able to find your way through the last part of the field. If you are having trouble, you might want to take a look at the map. When you find you way out of the Gas Field, enter the cave.

    The Sixth Attribute, Courage

Talk to the creature that looks somewhat like Mogu on the throne. He'll try to brush you off, but Anne and the old man will come to give him confidence. After they disappear, the other five attributes will combine with Courage. Once Mogu is whole, he will still have his doubts, but join your party anyway. Head back to North Tower!

    Mogu

Mogu is the last character that joins you in Breath of Fire. He is a bit weak at first, but if you keep working with him, he can grow to be a powerful extra hitter. If you plan to use him right off the bat, place him in the back row, away from the first position. His only skill, Dig, allows escape from battle if the battleground has dirt on it. Most of his weapons take up two hands, so he usually won't get the defense bonus from shields. In various places located on the World Map, he is able to dig and pick up some helpful items, mainly Life.

  • It has been awhile since you've been here, so let us take another overview. The blue buttons make the walls disappear, while the orange cause them to reappear. On the top floors, you'll find holes on the outside wall to go through. Entering these holes drops you outside of the tower, so do not do that if you wish to stay in the tower. You may have forgotten the directions to Mothro, so I will list them again. Step on the blue button you see. Head east, and you should step on an orange button on the way. Follow the path up until you reach another blue button- don't step on it! Turn into the passage to your left and continue on until you reach a fork, then go north. Take the first southern pathway you come across, and continue on west when you come across another fork. Shortly after, take a trip into the eastern passageway you find. This path should eventually take you to Mothro. To your disappointment, he will retreat to the top floor. Head up the staircase after him.

    Second Floor

The enemies around here and the other floors are like the ones you met on the first floor, so if you need an overview of the enemies, check in the section when you first visited the tower. Anyway, follow the path and step on the blue button you come across. Continue on until you hit an invisible wall. Walk east and then head south after being stopped. After a long period of walking, you should be halted again. From there, head west, where you should see an orange button. Align yourself vertical from the button, and head up. Once the walls reappear, take the first western path in front of you. Go up the staircase.

    Third Floor

This is the last floor you must travel on in order to reach Mothro. The path should lead you to a blue button. After the walls disappear, feel your way through the invisible maze until you are two tiles north from a blue button (this includes the tile you are on, and excludes the tile the button is on). From here, go east four tiles, north three, east three, north three, east five, and then head up to the orange button directly in front of you. The button frenzy is nearing its end! Climb up the staircase.

    Fourth Floor

This floor is very simple. Travel through tile after tile, until you reach Mothro. Make sure you are healed to your full, and then approach him. He will threaten you on how fighting in the Dream World is much different than in the Real World. Do not let this faze you- finish him off!

    Mothro

Unlike last time, you can finally deal this guy some damage! He still has that strange lifebar deal, which assumes a state of his second wind in this whole battle. Mothro is extremely simple, and I have never seen him physically attack, or try to do any direct damage to the party. All he ever does is either attempt to Poison or put a TimeOut on someone, both which are status effects. TimeOut has the chance of putting someone out of action for awhile, and Poison just tries to give someone a hard time with the ailment. If someone gets affected by these spells, have Nina use her Heal spell to fix them up. Basically, you can do whatever you want in this battle! You could put all the physical fighters in and have them keep pounding away at Mothro until he bites the dust. Atk-Up spells may help in your fight as well. Overall, Mothro's words are stronger than himself in combat. You recieve 6000EP/8000GP for beating such a simple foe.

    !!!!Victory!!!!

Ignore Mothro's comment on how you are now trapped in the Dream World forever. After he dies, the screen will begin to fade, and you will reappear back in Gramor.

    Gramor

The people will rejoice at Mogu's awakening and the party's return. Mogu will recall the previous events, and join your party, this time for good! Make sure to save, and then exit Gramor.

    World Map

With Mogu in the party, there are some very important side events you can discover. For the complete scoop, check out this page. Make your way south of Gramor and enter the cave you come across.

    Cave to Spring

This cave is pretty straightforward, so I did not bother to make a map for it. If for some reason, you cannot find your way through this cave, then feel free to request one. When you emerge from the cave, you will find yourself in a winter wonderland.
