World Map

The path is now open to you to head south, towards Auria. Do so, but stop when you see a strange little building by four trees. It kind of looks like a sea shell. This place is called the Dragon Training Center. If you are able to meet the requirements of entering, and beat the enemy that awaits you there, then you will unlock a part of your unimaginable power. Well, what are you waiting for? It's time to load up on some real firepower. Enter the Dragon Training Center.

Dragon Training Center

Training Treasures

  • Melon
  • Enter the building you see. Inside, talk to the old man you see. He'll comment on how you need training to break the seal. You will then be seperated from your party. You should first take the right path to get a Melon. Then go back and take the left path to find a Dragon Fountain- which you should heal at. Now go back and take the middle path this time. You will see a Dragon Spirit. The Melon is basically the only thing you need, but if you don't want to use it, get some Herbs in your inventory. When you're ready, talk to the Dragon Spirit to initiate the training session!

    Training Session #1: Talon

Talon has around 750HP. If you haven't done so, place Ryu in the back row. Since Ryu's physical attack isn't really effective against Talon, have him use the E. Key each round. Talon only has his physical attack to use against you, which does around 8-10 HP damage, if Ryu is in the back row. If you HP gets around 30 or so, use a Herb or Melon. Before your HP can drop back down again, Talon should be defeated. Talon has no second wind, so once his life bar is gone, it's all over. You get a measly 400EP/90GP from this fight, but the "after rewards" are much greater.

    !!!!Victory!!!!

Afterwards, the Dragon Spirit will announce your training as complete! You'll be given three new powers- the ability to transform into the elemental drakes. Heal at the fountain, and talk to the old man to rejoin your party. Leave the Dragon Training Center, and prepare to try out your new powers.

    Ryu's Transformation Abilities

If you take a look at Ryu's spell screen, you'll see three new spells in his inventory: SnoDr, FlmDr, and ThrDr. SnoDR cost 7AP, and is probably the weakest compared to the other forms. The only enemy or boss you'd probably want to use it for is an enemy that is weak vs. ice/water. The FlmDr costs 10AP, and is stronger than the SnoDr. You'll really only want to use this form against bosses or enemies that are weak vs. fire. Other then that, you should stick with the ThrDr. The ThrDr costs 12AP, and is the strongest of the three forms. This is the usual form to use vs. most bosses and enemies. They may not be weak the lightning elemental, but this still does more damage per attack than FlmDr or SnoDr would. To transform into one of these forms, you must be in combat. It takes one turn for Ryu to transform into the one you picked.. During the second round, Ryu can attack in his new form. The weapon he had on him is obsolete when he transforms. For example, having the Rang equipped when transforming won't grant Ryu the ability to attack all enemies in his dragon form (though you get a form later on that allows you to attack all). If you check his spell list while in the transformed state, you'll see a new option called Revert. Choosing this returns Ryu back into his human form. Other then choosing 'revert', the other way to revert back to human form is by dying in dragon form. This does revert Ryu back to human form, but he is rendered unconscious in the process. Your AP is not consumed while you are in your transformed state. You can stay in the transformed state until you either die, revert back to human form, or you emerge victirous in battle. As for status immunities- Ryu's transformations are immune to all status ailments, excluding death. If he is inflicted with any status ailment before transforming, then he will be unable to transform. In others, if you plan on transforming, do it as soon as possible! While in his transformed state, Ryu can use items, defend, and attack like he would be able to in human form. As for your status in a transformed state, attack and defense are usually enhanced. That's basically it for the first overview on Ryu's transformations. It is always recommended to use Ryu's transformations during boss battles, for they'll make the boss go down quicker, and make your day easier.

    World Map

After you're done investigating your new powers, it is time to deal with the matter at hand. There is one new enemy here you haven't met yet. First, let us go over the three enemies you have seen before. Surprise, surprise, you'll meet the old S. Rider, and Midget from the Forest of Despair. If you haven't figured it out yet, they both can be taken out with the E. Key and Rang. The other enemy is the Fungus, which you may or may not have met in the stone robot. Be sure to kill him before he can use Devistat or paralyze on you. A swift round using the E. Key/Rang/Bo's attack will do nicely. The new enemy you should note is the Tronk. This creature can curse, paralyze, and even silence you! However, its attack is not very strong. It has kind of a low amount of HP, and can be killed using the E. Key/Rang Strat. It gives a suitable amount of EP and GP as well. Since it is slow, killing it before it can hurt you is very likely. They sometimes appear in groups of three, netting you 630EP if you can defeat them in one round! To proceed, put Bo in the lead, and head south, from the Dragon Training Center. You should spot this opening in the forest, covered with flowers (they look like colored sprinkles on the ground). If you took to your right of the opening in the forest, you'll spot a square of flowers, with a clear opening in the middle. First, enter the opening with the flowers in the forest.

    Fairie Realm

If you look around this area, you'll find a couple of sprite fairies. Each and every one of them threaten to cast a spell on you if you cut down the trees. Good thing there wasn't any fairies near the Forest of Despair! Be sure to keep this area in mind. When you're ready, exit.

    World Map

This time, head into the middle of the flower square, located outside of the forest.

    Fairie Ring

You'll see a boy walking around in circles, following the ring of repeating flowers. If you talk to him, he'll say that he can't stop walking around. You can't do anything for him now, so just take note and leave.

    World Map

Make sure you have Bo in the lead, and head a bit southwest from the Fairie Ring, where you'll come across a cave.

  • E. Key

  • There are four enemies you can meet in this cave, one of which is kind of deadly. A familiar enemy you'll find is the Ameblobe. Another old enemy is the Midget, which can be taken out with one swing of the Rang, followed by an E. Key attack. A new, but weak enemy, the Fly, can be found around here. One quick swift of the Rang will wipe out a whole group of these guys. They give a decent amount of EP and GP- 60EP and 30GP for each one killed. The last, and most dangerous enemy is the Shadow. Typically, he will be faster than anyone in your party. He has the ability to curse, paralyze, and even Shock you. Being able to curse, attack you for medium damage, or even paralyze you while attacking first isn't that bad, but having the potential to shock your party to death without knowing what hit them is another thing! If you meet a group of three, just hope they don't all cast the Shock spell on you. If they do, then pray the Shock spell isn't successful every time. If it is, then its Game Over! After they attack, you can simply fling your Rang and use the E. Key to easily dispatch of them. They give a pretty good amount of 180EP and 90GP each. As for this cave, it is rather simple in design. Follow the only path you see south of the entrance. When you come across a fork, head south. You'll eventually come to the exit of the cave.

    World Map

If you study the enemies around this area, you'll find them to be very weak enemies such as the Bulla, Flea, and Slime. This being the case, simply walk down to the south, where you'll come across the town of Auria.

  • Well, welcome to Auria, the city of gold! Now, head up and.... what? It seems like the guards in front of the entrance have put you under arrest! Follow the dialogue and watch as you get locked up in a room. Well, it seems you are stuck, or are you? You'll see a guy sleeping in bed. Maybe he can get you out of here. Talk to him, and he'll ask you if you want his help. Say "yes", and he'll unlock the door for you! Before you go off following the newly opened path search the water holder in the corner of the room for a PrisnCL. This piece of equipment isn't really worth equipping, but just keep it in your inventory. Now follow the path up the stairs. When you reach the next floor, head out the door, into the city.

    Outside

You'll appear near the entrance of Auria when you exit the building. If you look over to the west, you will see a building with a fish head emblemed on the top. This is the Item and Weapon Shop of Auria. If you haven't already figured it out, enter the shop and prepare to spend some of that cash you earned!

  • Weapon/Item Shop

One thing to note about this shop is that there is no bank. Another thing is that the Weapon Shop is located to your right, while the Item Shop is on the other side. First, check out the things at the Weapon Shop. You'll notice they sell SunHTs here. Of course, if you got the SunHT from Aqua and equipped it on Ryu, there is no need for another one (Bo with the WolfHT is fine). Make sure you buy a Tiara for Nina, and a SageML and LongBW for Bo. If you wish, you could buy a Rapier for Nina, but hold off on the BroadSD for Ryu- since you won't face any bosses from this town to the next. Sell any excess equipment you have. As for the Item Shop, make sure you buy the pouch. As for Rod1 and the Worm, you should buy it only if you wish to fish. If you're wondering what spots are good for fishing, visit this page. If not, then there's no point in buying it. Buy some Herbs if you need to. The last two items you should buy are the Vitamn and a couple of Mrbl1s. If you don't have enough money for the Mrbl1s, then try to at least buy the Vitamn. You'll see a G. Bar priced at a whopping 65000G, which you shouldn't worry about yet. Once you're done shopping, head up the staircase you see. Upstairs, talk to the man at the table to learn he has the hic-ups. Give him the Vitamn you bought from the Item Shop. Upon taking it, his hic-ups will disappear, and he'll reward you with 5000GP! Before we continue further, a note about the money you will recieve/find in this town: DO NOT SPEND THE MONEY YOU GET FROM THIS TOWN UNLESS IT IS FOR THE G. BAR. Reason being is that the money you get from the various places in town are for a single purpose- purchasing the mighty G. Bar. So unless you want to fight monsters for a pretty long time, save the money you recieve. Now head north of the Vitmn man (the man you gave the Vitmns to), where you'll spot a shelf blocking a hole in the wall. Push the shelf aside, and enter the hole. Inside, push the jar you see to the north of you, and press the "talk button" to discover a Life2! Talk to the guy in this room to learn about a kingdom of thieves. After you're done, exit the room. Back in the room with the Vitmn man, you may socialize with the others if you wish. When you're ready, exit the shop.

    Outside

You can head west of the shop to find a ship that belongs to a man named Ross. It looks like if you want to get to Scande, you're going to have to set sail. Head back to where the shop is, and head east this time. You'll spot an Inn, along with a Dragon Shrine. If you need to, rest, and make sure you save. Watch out for the guard by them, though, if you get to close to him, instead of being thrown out like in Nanai, you're be thrown back in jail. If you don't care about wasting time going in and out of jail, then by all means, walk up and greet him. After you're done with that, walk north of the Dragon Shrine (without getting too close to the guard). You'll spot two houses. You should first enter the house on your left.

    House #1

Inside, you can grab a chest containing a Life2, to the northwest of the entrance. You can also grab a S. Ptn from the drawer by the staircase, which is north from the entrance of the house. You can talk to the people here if you want. When you're done, go up the staircase. Upstairs, you can grab a Cure from the drawer, which is east of the staircase, as well as a W. Ant, located in the chest to the west. When you're done raiding the whole house, exit.

    Outside

This time, enter the house on your right.

    House #2

This house is about the same, in design, compared to the first house. You can grab a Life from the chest northwest from the entrance, as well as a V. Ptn from the drawer, located by the staircase. You can talk to the lady here to learn about how there are skilled thieves in Bleak. There's nothing much else to do down here, so go up the staircase. Upstairs, you can grab a Mrbl1 from the chest to the west. In the drawer located to the east, you can grab 2000GP (which should be spent on the G. Bar). Well, that's basically all you can do up here. If you're done looking through the rest of the house, exit.

    Outside

Now, head north from both houses to find two more houses. Enter the house to your left first.

    House #3

If you talk to the woman by the table, located northeast of the entrance, she'll tell you about her son. If you had visited the Fairie Realm and Ring earlier, you'll automatically tell her about the fate of her son. She will then ask you to help him. Before you go running out the door, grab an Acorn from the chest, as well as a SmartRG from the drawer. Equip it on Nina to boost her INT by 8, while her MAG by 6. Go up the staircase. Upstairs, get a Life from the drawer, and an Antdt from the chest. That's all that you can basically do here, so exit the house.

    Outside

Before you exit town, enter the other house to your right.

    House #4

Don't open the chest northwest of the entrance, or you'll end up in jail once again. Just take a L. Ptn from the drawer. There's no one here so head up the staircase. Upstairs, get a Mrbl3 from the drawer. Open the chest you see to the west for a Cure. You'll spot an old man southeast of the staircase. If you have either Bo or Ryu in the front of the party, he will ask to speak with Nina. Do what the old man wishes- put Nina in the front of the party and talk to him. He'll ask you to heal his aching back. Since you're such a nice guy/girl, do so. The screen will flash purple, followed by pat-a-pat-pat messages. Afterwards, the man will thank you and give you 20000GP! Not bad for a back rub! Exit the house.

    Outside

Continue on north past the two houses to find the fifth (and last) house. Enter it.

    Ross's House

Inside, head directly north of the entrance to come to a room with a man walking in circles. This man is named Ross, the owner of the ship in the dock. Talk to him, and he'll offer to lend you his ship if you do him a favor. Say yes to find out that his daughter is trapped within a safe. The staircase leading downstairs to her is directly west of the entrance (or southwest of the room Ross is in). Once you go down to visit, you'll discover you cannot get to her because the safe is locked. It looks like you're going to have to find another solution than just walking in. Go back up the stairs. This time, head up onto the second floor. The staircase leading up is right by the entrance. Upstairs, you can get 2000GP from the drawer to the northeast of the staircase. Northwest of the staircase, you can find two chests: the chest to your left contains a Cure;the chest to your right contains a G. Tiara. The G. Tiara can be equipped by Nina, but it's defense power is rather low. The main purpose of the G. Tiara is to sell it for gold. You can sell it for a whopping 13000GP at the Item Shop (selling it elsewhere gives you a lesser amount)- an amount to add into your fund-raising for the G. Bar. When you're ready, exit.

    Outside

Well now, you should have gathered a total of 43000GP for the G. Bar now. You have 22000GP remaining. Are you thinking what I'm thinking? Go rescue the boy at the Fairie Ring! When you're ready, save, exit town, and head towards the Fairie Realm!

    Fairie Realm

Talk to the Fairies and say yes when they offer you a deal. They'll tell you to go meet them at the Fairie Ring. Follow their command, and head to the Fairie Ring.

    Fairie Ring

Talk to the Fairies and the boy here. The Fairies will comment on the boy's foolishment. The boy will then promise not to chop down trees anymore. Well, it looks like everything has been settled. Exit and warp back to Auria.

    Auria

Head back to the boy's mother's house. Talk to his mother to recieve her thanks and her so-called low reward of 20000GP!

What to do with the Money

You now have at least 63000GP in your pockets from this town- by looking in drawers, selling the G. Tiara, and doing good deeds. Now I don't know about you, but for me, having or even getting an extra 2000GP wasn't a problem- especially since you are going to get repaid with 5000GP soon. So just get an extra 2000GP and purchase the G. Bar. Keep this handy- you will need it. Now the only ordeal left is the case of Ross's daughter. In order to open the safe, you apparently need a thief who can open locks. You could go to the jail and ask the man there, but he is sleeping- and won't get up. So you have no choice but to travel to Bleak, the town of thieves. When you're ready, save and exit town.

    World Map

Head east of Auria to find a cave. This cave leads to Bleak. When you're ready, enter.

  • Talk to the two men here, and if you talked to Ross beforehand, they'll tell you to watch out for the thieves in Bleak, and let you through. Head down the staircase. Before we move on further, let us review the main enemies here. There are three relatively simple enemies. Two familiar enemies you may meet are the Midget, and Fly. These enemies will usually die if you use the Rang in combo with the E. Key. The final enemy you can meet is the Bully. This little enemy is weak, and usually dies with one swish of the Rang, if not alone, in combo with the E. Key. You can usually kill him before he can even begin to attack. However, if-you-let-him-attack, then you-will-most-likely-die, especially vs. a pair. The reason being is that this guy can cast many versions of the T. Bolt spell. He usually casts the advanced types, which hits all your characters for 90+ HP damage! If the other Bully in the pair casts it again, it usually is Game Over for you. The moral of this story? Always kill the Bully, before he can "bully" you. These three enemies give a decent amount of EP and GP, but you'll be able to find better enemies after you pass through this cave. You may also come across a weakened wall as well as a few locked doors. You cannot access some areas behind locked doors. For some, you can just walk the long way around. As for the weakened walls, you can't break them yet, so don't worry about them. Once you reach the bottom of the staircase, head west, and go north when you can. Ignore the first eastern pathway you spot, and take the second path you see heading east, following the long path. When you come to a fork, head east. Follow the path until you come to another fork, and take the western path. You'll come across two chests, which contain a ShellHT and Cure. You can't equip the ShellHT on anybody yet, but keep it handy. Head back to the fork and continue on south. Head north when you reach another fork, and go up the staircase. Upstairs, head east and follow the passage and take the southern path to exit the cave.

    World Map

If you take a look outside, it is dark. No matter what, this area will always remain dark until you take a visit to the LtKeep. However, you should just head to Bleak which is southeast from the cave. It seems the G. Knight and Mage have teamed up together! They think a physical + magic team is the perfect strategy! Wrong, you can simply wipe them out before they can even hurt you with the E. Key and Rang. There is also the Fly, which can be killed easily. There are these monsters called G. Slimes, which are relatively easy to kill, and give a plentiful amount of EP and GP. If you kill one in one round, you'll get 1200EP/450GP! Sometimes you can meet three in combat, and gain a maximum of 3121EP/1170GP for killing them in one round! The second round totals are, of course, still high. In addition, they are not that rare. Another thing to note about them is their attack rating is quite high, thus you'll see 23HP+ damage appear pretty often. They can also cast Frost, which takes off a harsh about of HP, so watch out. They don't run, from what I've experienced. So once you meet a group, you're pretty much in the EP and GP business. You can power level here if you wish. However, there is another place you can level up: the desert. Before deciding on what to do, head on over to Bleak to rest up and save!

  • If you talk to the people near the entrance, they'll mention about how to keep your pouch with you. You'll see a Dragon Shrine as well as an Inn by the entrance. Enter the Dragon Shrine and save. If you have the pouch, try taking a rest at the Inn for free. You'll come to a scene where the innkeeper will attempt to steal your pouch. The string attached to the pouch will make you wake you up, and enable you to grab the pouch in time. The innkeeper will apologize for what he attempted to do (coward), and will give you 5000GP! This makes up for the extra 2000GP you had to get earlier for the G. Bar. From this point forward, the Inn will be free of charge, and the innkeeper will stop his foolish attempts to steal from customers! After you're done resting and saving, head a bit further north to find the Item and Weapon shop. To the direct west of the shops, you'll see a building with a girl dancing in front of it. The first order of business is to purchase some equipment from the Weapon Shop! You should buy a MetalSH for Ryu, as well as a WoolRB for Nina. You can buy a BroadSD for 5000GP here, compared to Auria's 5500GP tagged BroadSD. I would buy this solely for boss fights. You should always keep the Rang for use vs. regular enemies. If you didn't buy the LongBW before, then purchase it here. This weapon shop is not only convient, but it offers some marked down stuff! The Item Shop, however, is the opposite. You'll find a Herb, which usually costs 9GP, for an increased price of 12GP. This is, however, a good place to sell some stuff. A rule of shops is that the higher the prices to buy materials from a shop, the higher the profit you'll make when selling your stuff. If you really need to purchase something at the Item Shop, then do it. As for the house with the girl dancing in front of it, you can talk to her to be asked if you want your fortune told or not. This is just another scam. Unless you want give away 200GP for nothing, say no to her. Instead, enter the house and grab yourself a Life2 under the barrel. which is on the west side. Once you're done with that, head further north from the Item/Weapon shop and the house, where you'll find two more houses. First enter the house on your left. Once inside, talk to the man. If you want to see something "cool", then answer yes to his question. When he asks you to put down 100GP on the table, answer yes. Answer no to the next two questions he asks you, and then answer yes for the same question after that. if you do this succesfully, a scene involving Chun-Li from street fighter will show her doing the famous 'lightning kick'. Back in the BoF world, head up the stairs and grab two Herbs located east of the staircase. That's basically all you can do here, so exit the house and enter the next house to your right, which is pretty empty. The only thing you can do is collect the two Herbs which are located east of the staircase. Afterwards, exit the house. Now head even further north, past the two houses, to come across a single house. If you talk to the green-haired woman walking around here, she'll talk about this DkKey, and how it is connected with the "goddess". This could be the goddess that was mentioned in the legend earlier in the game. Anyway, enter the last house. Inside, you can talk to the two young people here to learn about some "thief book". The main person to talk to is the old man, located in the room northwest of the entrance. He'll comment on how a person named Karn can help you open the safe in Auria. However, it seems Karn went on a trip to this place called Krypt, located in the desert. The old man offers to trade you the Life and W. Ant from the two chests, located east of the staircase. When you get back outside, you can talk to whoever you want. You can learn about this 'mirror' and 'old man' up at the LtKeep and the reason everything in this area is dark now. Once you're done socializing, purchasing materials, and resting up, save and exit town.

    World Map

If you have already forgotten, G. Slimes can be fought around this region for plenty of EP and GP. You can rest at Bleak whenever you wish. Once you're charged up and ready, head into the cave located west of Bleak.

  • Welcome to the Desert Cave. You are only a few footsteps away before the desert. There are four enemies you can encounter here, the Ameblobe, Midget, Fly, and Shadow. Simply just use the old E. Key/Rang Strategy to take care of them. The Shadow is still fast, and can take you down slowly with it's status affecting spells, which is basically the only threat in this cave. As for the design, it is simply ridiculous. Just head down the staircase you see, by the entrance, and follow the path downstairs. You'll come to another staircase, which you should go up. Follow the path upstairs where you'll find the exit to the cave. If you have the Icicle, cool air will move in and allow you to travel into the desert region. Easy! Get ready to enter a different looking terrain.

    World Map

The enemies you will meet in the desert region are all new enemies you have not encountered before. Unless you travel far west from the Desert Cave, near the shoreline, you probably won't meet any old friends. So who are your new opponents? They aren't that tough, but they can be a pain to take down sometimes. We'll start with the easiest, and most beneficial enemy of the five. The Sandclod, an enemy that looks like the Creep, can be commonly found in sandy terrain. If you walk around the green area of the region, you probably won't encounter him. Not only is he common to find in the desert, but he gives great EP and GP as well. He isn't all that tough either. One whip of the E. Key and Rang is enough to 'overkill' him. Each Sandclod you kill gives 510EP/180GP (provided you kill them in one round)! The Sandclod usually appears in groups, thus raising the EP gain up to at least 1000EP+ per battle! If the G. Slimes were showing up too slow for you, then try this place! The next enemy that gives a pretty good amount of EP is the Scorp. They sometimes appear with Sandclods. The E. Key/Rang Strategy may not be enough to kill off a whole group, so I suggest giving it all you've got! This applies to the Cactus and Prickle as well. Have Nina cast Atk-Up on Ryu, instead of using the E. Key. Have Bo use the E. Key while Ryu attacks. The power up from the spell should enable the Rang to lower all of the enemies' HP under 30. After that, Bo can just use the E. Key and finish them off quite nice. It uses up Nina's AP a bit, but that's what her AP is for- to use spells! The Cactus, Prickle, and Scorp all attack around 8-15HP or so, depending on your level. As for the last enemy, the Creon, you can just basically use the E. Key/Rang Strategy to take care of them. The Creon, Cactus, Prickle, and Scorp all give good amounts of EP and GP. However, the Sandclod surpasses them all, in being the easiest to beat, as well as the monster who gives the most in the desert. The desert is a pretty good place to level up. However, there is an area in Krypt where you can level up quite nicely. You can either wait till then, or level up now. Before you can enter Krypt, you must visit Arad, a small town located in the desert. To find it, simply walk far south of the Desert Cave. You'll eventually see a moving town, as well as the town known as Arad. You can't enter the moving town, so skip it for now, and enter Arad.

    Arad

    Arad's Treasures

  • Fife
  • The building to your right, by the entrance, is an Inn containing a Dragon Statue. Make sure to rest up for free and save at the Dragon Statue. If you take a look in each building in this town, except for the red one, you'll notice there are no treasures to find. Before you enter the red building, talk to the townsfolk here to learn about some 'nut', a 'rare weapon', the 'moving town', and this 'fife'. The only thing you can and need now is the Fife. This is the item that will allow you to enter Krypt. To obtain it, enter the red house, and talk to the mayor inside (he's the man in the middle of the room). He'll talk to you about this Sandworm, and offer you the Fife as a reward, if you can defeat it. If you are ready, say 'yes', to accept the job. The mayor will then comment on how the Sandworm is eating feeding on the goats in town, and then the scene will shift to night. You'll still be in the mayor's house. Exit the house, and make sure to save. When you're ready, enter the open area east of the mayor's house (it's the northeastern corner of town). You'll see a bump on the ground moving. If you have the BroadSD, equip it on Ryu. Walk up to the bump on the ground to initiate combat.

    Sandworm

Sandworm has around 1500 or so HP. This is a fairly simple battle. The only thing that Sandworm has is his "breath attack", which can deal anywhere from 10-25HP damage vs. one character. If you powered up your characters in the desert or at Bleak, then this fight should really be a cinch. Using Fort on your characters doesn't really seem to reduce the damage done to you, so don't even bother. Instead, have Nina use the E. Key right off the bat. Ryu should transform into ThrDr, while Bo uses Fry. Once Ryu has transformed, the fun really begins. You could use a Mrbl1 with Ryu to connect with a slam, doing 260HP damage to Sandworm! This, combined with the E. Key and Fry spell, really drains Sandworm's HP each round. Sandworm is fast, but that shouldn't really be a problem. If anyone gets hurt real bad- around 30HP left- then have Nina heal them. The battle should go with relative ease. "Sandworm got up" is the beginning of his short second wind. It just takes 1-3 more rounds of attacking to knock this worm down for good. You recieve a decent amount of 1200EP/1200GP upon victory.

    !!!Victory!!!

Ryu will raise his sword afterwards, signaling victory. You'll reappear in the mayor's house. He'll thank you and tell you to take the Fife from the chest (which is a bit northwest of the mayor if you don't see it). Do so. Afterwards, save and rest up. When you're ready, exit.

    World Map

Krypt is located a bit south of Arad. In order to enter, step on the tile in front of the moving sand and press the talk button (you'll know the tile when you see it). A bridge will appear, where your party will automatically cross over. The bridge will then disappear. After that, you might as well enter and prepare to do some dungeon exploring!

  • Welcome to Krypt, the "trapped dungeon". There aren't any traps on the first floor, but there are enemies. Specifically, the Scorp, Mage, and Fly. You should just cast Atk-Up on Ryu while Bo uses the E. Key to take out the Scorp easily. The Mage and Fly fall pretty easily to the Rang and E. Key alone. As for any new monsters, there is one, the E. Chest. This creature gives a bit more EP and GP then the G. Slime does, as well as having less HP and less attack. However, it is strong vs. physical attacks. However, having Nina cast Atk-Up on Ryu, while Bo uses the E. Key should solve this problem. This usually kills them off fast and effectively. You'll gain 1290EP/540GP from killing one of these in one round. There is another area in Krypt which is better, but that's after you've beaten the boss- so it's up to you. That is basically all the enemies you can meet on the next few floors, so follow the path, from the entrance, and go down the staircase. Downstairs, stop where you are. This whole room is full of potholes in the floor that can't be seen until you fall through them! If you want to grab all the treasures without going through much trouble, then follow these directions. First head down the steps to the south of the staircase, and head directly east. When you reach an intersection of either heading north, south, or down south a bit, head north. When you reach a fork with a north path and east path, head east and go up the steps you see with a chest. When you open it, a trap will trigger hitting you with poison. You'll recieve a Herb. Heal, and head back down the steps. Head back west to the fork. Take the northern path this time. You'll see a staircase heading down. Instead of going down, head east of it. Ignore the first two paths you see going south. Take the third southern path you see. When you reach an intersection with three paths, go into the western path. Go up the steps you see with a chest. A trap will trigger, cursing you. You'll get an IronSH. Heal the curse, and keep the IronSH handy. Head back down the steps, and head back east, into the intersection. This time, take the eastern path. When you reach the wall, head south. Once you come to a fork, head west. When you come to an intersection, take the southern path. At another intersection, take the western path and go up the steps with the chest you can see. Make sure Ryu is in the front of the party. Opening the chest will trigger a trap which lowers the front character's AP. Since Ryu doesn't use his AP much, it's best to have him take the trap's wrath. You'll recieve the Dagger. Like the IronSH, save this for later. Head back down the steps and continue on west. When you can't head west any further, and are at a fork, head south. When you come to a western path, take it. Go up the first northern path you see, where you should fall down into a pithole. You'll land in the area where all the pitholes lead. Head north from where you land until you reach a wall. Head west from there and you should come to a staircase. Back upstairs, head west from the staircase. Skip the first path you see heading south. Take the second southern path you see. When you reach an intersection, head west, and go up the steps with the chest. Open it to trigger a trap, dealing 50HP damage to the lead character. You'll recieve a DreamRG, which you should equip on Nina. Heal, and head back down the steps. Continue west, into a wall. From there, head south. Skip the first eastern path you see. Take the second eastern path. Go up the steps and open the chest. You'll be poisoned upon opening the chest and recieve a Life. Heal the poison, and go down the steps. Head back west into the wall and down south. Take the eastern path you come across. Go up the second northern path you come across. When you reach an intersection, head east and go up the steps. Open the chest to recieve 50HP damage and a Herb. Recover your HP, and head back down the steps. Head west, back to the intersection, and go back down south. Once you reach the wall, continue on east and skip the first steps. When you spot a second pair of steps, head north and go up those steps. Go down the next staircase you see. Downstairs, you'll appear in another large room. The good news is, there are no more pitholes from this point on! Head north from the staircase. If you head straight north through the middle, you'll spot two things. You'll spot this B. Rang trapped in rocks to your left. You can't break the rocks and obtain the B. Rang yet, so don't worry about it. As for the site to your right, there will be a chest. This chest has a trap that kills the lead character instantly, so if you want to obtain the contents of the chest, make sure you can revive the person who opens it! You'll find a Headgear in the chest. Be sure to equip it on Bo, since he hasn't had much upgrade to his defense lately. Once that is done, continue on north. When you spy some steps, stop, and make sure you are healed to your fullest. If you have the BroadSD, equip it on Ryu. When you're ready, go up the steps to find this creature. All of his eyeballs will come together to form one monster. He'll comment on how another intruder slipped passed him, and how you're not so lucky. Let's see who the unlucky one really is!

    Eyespy

Eyespy has around 1700HP. He has two attacks, one where he physically attacks one of your party members for 8-20HP damage. The other is a magical attack, in which he casts a T. Bolt spell vs. your party for around 25HP damage. It seems he uses the magical attack when he's close to dying, so it really isn't a thing to worry too much about. If everyone's HP drops too low, have everyone heal that round or use Meat. You should heal once your HP drops to about 50, for any character. Ryu should transform, while Bo uses Fry. Once the whole party is fortified, have Nina use the E. Key. Bo should continue attacking with Fry, and if his AP drops down to low, have him recover using an Acorn. Once Ryu is transformed into the ThrDr, have him use a Mrbl1 for slams, or regulary attack. As Eyespy's HP gets lower and lower, he'll start losing his eyes, and start using T. Bolt. It'll eventually come down to you knocking him to his second wind, when 'Eyespy got up'. It'll take about one more round of attack until Eyespy is down for good. You'll recieve 3368EP/3368GP from this battle. I guess Eyespy wasn't the lucky one!

    !!!!Victory!!!!

Eyespy will not accept his defeat, but explode from lack of energy or whatever one wants to call it. Heal anyone that is hurt really bad. Head down the staircase, and, wownstairs, you'll find a treasury of chests! What should catch your eye is the blue chest. When you try to open it, the room will start flooding! The party will then head on over and take a look below. Nina will begin to panic, and Bo will tell everyone to search for a way out. Eventually, the flooding will stop, and you'll hear a voice coming from the blue chest. The chest will be pushed aside, and Karn will pop out. At this point, Bo and Nina will ask Karn if he could open the safe in Auria. Karn will reply that he could, but only if he found the book in the tomb. You'll soon discover Karn wants you to go look for it for him, but you convince him to come along with you. He'll disappear down the staircase. Open the rest of the chests, if you haven't already, to grab two SkullHTs, an IcyHT, a Cure, and an Antdt. Equip the IcyHT on Bo, and the two SkullHTs on Nina and Ryu. Now head down the staircase. Talk to Karn here to learn that he can open the locked doors. He'll then join your party!

    A New Ally

There are a few things that need to be done before continuing along with Karn in your group. First off, equip Karn with the best equipment you have available. Specifically, the Dagger, IronSH, PrisnCL (from Auria jail), and Headgear all fit perfectly with Karn. Secondly, Karn can unlock locked doors if he is leading the party. This being the case, reorder your party. A suggested formation would be from first to last: Karn (front row), Ryu (front row), Bo (back row), and Nina (back row). Karn has enough HP, defense, and attack to withstand blows like Ryu. Bo does have a ton of HP, but his defense may not hold out. As for Nina, it is pretty obvious since she has low defense, and isn't used much to physically attack. You don't necessarily have to follow this, but it is recommended. As for what Karn is best used for, it could either be healing or attacking. Karn, once he reaches higher levels, will be fast enough to heal someone (or the party with an all recovery item) if it is necessary. His attack isn't that good while in human right now, but believe me, when he is able to fuse with the party members, he'll be a force to be reckoned with! Right now, you could use him as a substitute for Nina, with the E. Key. Other then Karn, you'll notice there are some more enemies here! Who wouldn't you expect then the E. Chest, G. Slime, and Warhog! It seems your old buddies in the past, that give great experience, have now gathered here! Most of them are encountered quite often on this floor. However, it seems like G. Slimes have somehow increased in attack, so watch out. A good strategy to use vs. the E. Chest and G. Slime is to have Nina cast Atk-Up on Ryu, while Bo uses the E. Key and Karn attacks to finish anything that's still alive. Once Karn becomes faster than Bo, have him use the E. Key while Bo attacks. This may not wipe out the enemy in one round, but it could (30% chance). Sometimes you'll meet Midgets, Mages, and Scorps. Regardless, this is practically your "level up heaven area". You should level Karn up to at least Level 15. Since he starts out at a relatively low level, he gains levels pretty fast. Anyway, head to the locked door and unlock it with Karn. Do the same with the next door you encounter. Now follow the path and when you reach a fork with a locked door, head west. Ignore the northern path you come across. Open the two chests you see with Karn. When you try to open them, you'll get a message saying it was trapped, and that Karn disarmed it. You'll get a Life from the bottom chest, while a Herb from the top. Now head back to the fork with the locked door, and unlock it. Go down the staircase you see. Downstairs, head west and follow the path. Upstairs, head east of the staircase. You now have the choice of going north, east, or south. Head south to find a chest. Open it with Karn for a HuntCL, which you should equip on Karn. Head back to the fork, and choose to go east. Go up the steps you see, and then down the staircase, as well as the next. At the very bottom, you'll find yourself in a big room. Head down south and open the grey casket you find. It'll be empty. Head east and open the next casket you find. It'll be empty as well. Now head north, and open the casket you find- which will be empty. Continue on north and open the next casket you find- it's empty! This may start getting annoying, but hang in there! Now head west and open the next casket you find, which will be empty. Continue on west and you'll find another casket. Open it to find... nothing. Now head south and open the casket to still find nothing. Continue on south, where you will find the last casket. Sure enough, when you open it, they'll be some writing on it. It'll say that since you have figured out the trap, you already have the skills needed to be a master thief. Karn will get excited and jump up and down. Nina will then urge him to hurry back to Auria to open the safe. If you hadn't figured it out yet, the last casket you open contains the words, regardless of where it is. Anyway, head on out of Krypt. The ordeal of finding Karn and getting the "Thief's Book", has finally come to an end.

    World Map

You're finally out of Krypt! With Karn, you can go back to some dungeons and collect some very useful things. You'll notice how Bo has plenty of HP, and gains levels on a pretty average rate. Although this is the case, keep him in the back row, since his defense is pretty low. Karn's main strong point, it probably is his speed- for now anyway. Ryu gains levels very slow, although the status gains for him are good overall. As for Nina, she gains levels like wildfire. She gains a suitable amount of AP and Int as well. With this in mind, level up if you need to, and warp back to Auria. You can either visit Ross or do some extra side things (VERY RECOMMENDED). The section with the sidequests is located here.

    World Map

    Warp to Auria.

    Auria

Back at Auria, save at the Dragon Shrine. If you need to, buy any new equipment for Karn. When you're done, head to Ross's house. Inside, go down into the basement and unlock the two safes. When you talk to Ross's daughter, she'll talk about the LtKey and how if her mother were still around, she would tell her father to do the right thing. Her mother? A choice? Go talk to Ross, and you'll learn that someone wants him to give them the LtKey or they will hurt his daughter. Smells like the Dark Dragons. There's nothing you really can do right now, so you might as well warp to Bleak and explore the LtKeep (the tower north of Bleak).

    Bleak

Buy any supplies you need, and then save and exit town.

  • Contrary to its name, the LtKeep is not so light. You can find Bullas and Slimes on the first floor. You should be at Level 15 with Karn, and around Level 17 or so with Bo and Ryu. Nina should be at least Level 16. If you're looking for a good place to level up, then go to the place in Krypt where you met Karn. You can meet E. Chests as well as G. Slimes there, both which give vast amounts of EP and GP. Anyway, open the locked door located north of the entrance. Open you the chest you find for 2000GP. Go up the staircase you see over to the west. Upstairs, you will meet some familiar enemies. You can find enemies like the G. Slime, Shadow, and Fungus here. The G. Slime can usually be taken out within two rounds- just watch out for its attacks and freeze spell. Although G. Slimes are present, it is not recommended to level up here, for the Shadows can do a number on your team. Even at a higher level, they are still faster than you. This means they can hit your party with status ailments- which can get pretty annoying to heal after battle. As for the Fungus, it shouldn't be a problem. There is a new enemy- the Chopper, an upgraded version of the Midget. Its not that fast, but can do a lot of damage vs. one of your characters with its physical attack. Just hit it hard on the first round, with things such as the E. Key, Rang, and FlameRP (if you have it). It has around 100HP, just like the Shadow. You get 720EP/450GP for killing one in one round. Well, head southeast of the staircase and talk to the old man you see. He'll offer you his treasure- only if you can defeat the ghosts at the top. Accept his offer, and head up the staircase you see over to your left. Upstairs, take the western staircase. Open the chests you find for a B. Stn and Life. Go back down and take the eastern staircase this time. Upstairs, go up the staircase you see to the south of you. On the next floor, head up the staircase you see to the north. Open the chest you find for a Life2, and go down the staircase you see. At the bottom of the staircase, open the three chests for a total gain of a Cure, HornHT, and Herb. Equip the HornHT on Karn, and go back up the staircase. Head down the staircase you previously climbed up earlier. If you look to the northeast, you will see a staircase- which you should go up. Upstairs, head south of the staircase and go up the first staircase you see. On the next floor, head west and go up the staircase. Upstairs, open the chest you find for a Turban. Equip it on anyone who needs a boost of agility- otherwise, leave it. Head east and open the chest you find for 2000GP. Go back downstairs. On the next floor, head back down the staircase. Downstairs, head west and go up the staircase you find. Upstairs, climb up the staircase to the east. You'll finally reach the last floor. Heal up, and when you're ready, talk to the orange orb on the pillar. A wisp-like being will appear, and mumble about how the dragons used to be the only ones who could enter. He'll then refer to the Ltkey as stolen, and attack you!

    Cloud

Cloud has around 1400HP. Ryu should immediately change into ThrDr. Bo should use Fry, while Karn either attacks with the FlameRP or E. Key, and Nina heal and use effect items (i.e. E. Key, FlameRP). Once Ryu transforms, have him attack Cloud with all he's got (with Mrbl1 or not), and have Bo keeping using Fry, while Karn uses the E. Key or FlameRP. If Nina has a free round, she should use the E. Key/FlameRP. If Nina is using one of Karn's items (E. Key/FlameRP), have him attack or use the item not being used. Cloud only attacks using magic, so Fort is useless. Cloud can attack with one of his three magical attacks: Burnout, T. Bolt, or Devistat. Burnout and T. Bolt usually do around 40HP damage vs. one of your characters without Shield. As for Cloud's Devistat, it does around 40HP damage vs. the party, so watch out! If everyone's HP gets around 60, use Meat or have everyone heal. If one character is hurt bad, have Nina or Karn heal them, since their actions are pretty fast. Cloud has no second wind, so once he's down, he's out! You get 4800EP/1200GP for winning.

    !!!!Victory!!!!

Cloud will congratulate you, and tell you to seek the LtKey. Push the talk button, by the pillar, to get the DkKey! Things will then turn lighter insode! Head back down to the old man. He'll thank you and let you take the contents of the chest behind him. Open it to get the Mirror! If you talk to the old man again, he'll say to use the mirror only when you need help from the netherworld. That sounds like what you need to do in Auria! When you're ready, exit the tower.

After Ross's wife disappears, hurry downstairs and talk to his daughter. For some weird reason, Ross's daughter will know that Ross has come to his senses. She tells you that the Dark Dragons are approaching. When asked if you will dispatch of them, answer yes. She will allow you to pass, and grab the treasury in the area for a total prize of a Dart, 5 Herbs, a B. Stn, and a MetalSH. Equip the MetalSH on anyone who needs it, and the Dart on Karn, if you hadn't grabbed it from the Cave to Bleak (during the second visit). Once you're done, head upstairs. Go up the next staircase you see, as well as the next after that. Despite the music, there are no monsters here, so feel free to take your time, following the path and heading up the staircase. On the next floor, open the chest for a F. Stn, and then head up the next staircase. At the top, it will be very bright. The aura of the LtKey is causing this to happen. You were here to get the LtKey, so walk up to the pillar, and press the talk button. The LtKey will fly around the room, and land in your possession. The tower will instantly go from a glowing spectrum, into nothing but a normal lit area. Seems pretty creep, doesn't it? Though the light is gone, monsters still do not appear- so don't worry. Simply exit Ross's home. When you're outside, take care of any business you may have remaining, such as shopping for Mrbl1s, and buying Acorns as well as Herbs. Rest up if you need to, and save. Head over to the dock, and you'll see the captain of Ross's ship near the entrance to the dock. He'll talk about how the Dark Dragons are blocking the way. It seems your enemies have finally arrived! Put on your fighting gear, and head into the dock. When you reach the end, you'll spot two Dark Dragon soldiers. Walk up to them, and the Knight in charge will comment on how you have the LtKey. It looks like he wants it, but you're not giving it up without a fight!

    Archer/Knight

Compared to most boss fights, this one is fairly easy. Adding to the fact neither the Archer's or Knight's attacks do much damage, they also do not have a second wind. The Archer has no more than 170HP, while the Knight has around 500HP. If you have the FlameRP unequipped and with you, this fight should go extremely fast. Karn has three main actions he can do: attack, use the FlameRP, or the E. Key. The FlameRP is recommended more than the E. Key, so if you must make a decision between the two, the FlameRP is your best bet. One use of the FlameRP combined with Bo's Fry takes care of the Archer easily. Nina could cast Fort on the party, or attack using an effect item. While all of this is taking place, have Ryu transform into ThrDr. With the Archer hopefully down, the Knight should be alone. Like the Archer, the Knight can deal anywhere from 12-20HP damage vs. a character. They only attack physically, as well. Having Ryu use a Mrbl1 two times equal game over for the Knight (four times without). Basically, that's how it should go: three rounds with Bo, Ryu, and Karn attacking should end this battle sweetly and quickly. You gain 4370EP/2835GP for winning.

    !!!!Victory!!!!

Due to the fact that the battle was easy, it is not surprising that your enemies are still alive. They will announce that Ross has betrayed them, and signal one of their ships to destroy Ross's ship. Then they will tell you that they will let you go for now, but to beware of the Dark Dragons, and vanish (cowards). The Captain will then come and talk about this Dark Dragon camp. A fish merchant, named Gobi, will come and discuss, along with the Captain, a way to surprise the Dark Dragons. It seems the idea is to blast through the rocks in Auria Cave, and attack from there. However, you will need GnPowdr to blast through the rocks, and Gobi is just the fish to provide it to you- for a price. You will need to trade him a G. Bar (65000G) for it. To get a free G. Bar, head to into the cave leading to Bleak, and unlock the safe, north from the exit, to find a chest holding it. Of course, if you had visited the cave earlier, you already have it (unless you sold it!). Once you have the G. Bar in your possession, talk to Gobi, and agree to trade it for the GnPowdr. Once this is done, buy anything you need from the Item/Weapon shop, rest up, and then save. If you haven't gotten the FlameRP yet, then go get it! It can be found in the Castle Winlan's basement. Once that is settled, head to Auria Cave.

    Auria Cave- 2nd Visit

None of the enemies here have changed. If you are entering from the Auria side, head north, and when you reach a fork, head west. You should eventually come across some rocks blocking the way south. If you have the Gnpowdr, walk up the rock, and the head of the party will automatically set the explosives. The party will automatically take cover, and the rocks will blow up. The entrance to the Dark Dragon camp is close- simply follow the once closed path south, and exit the cave.

  • Follow the path, and when you reach a house, ignore it, and head on west. You'll eventually be stopped by two Spearman, and they will attack.

    SpearmanX2

Each of the Spearman have no more than 150HP. Have Nina instantly cast Atk-Up on Ryu, while he attacks with his Rang. You should have the FlameRP by now, so have Karn use it as a combat item vs. one of the Spearman. Bo should use Fry on the same Spearman Karn uses the FlameRP on. This should take care of at least one of the Spearman. Each Spearman hits for around 7-10HP damage. Simply have Karn use the FlameRP again, this time on the other Spearman, and have Nina use the E. Key. Bo and Ryu should just attack. This should end the battle quickly and easily. You gain 1300EP/884GP for winning.

    Afterwards

Once that is done with, continue on the path, and when you reach a ship, get on board.

    Dark Dragon Ship

    Ship's Treasures

  • V. Ptn
  • AcornX2
  • HerbX2
  • If you try to advance into the ship, you'll be stopped by a lone Archer. It seems his shift is almost over, but that doesn't mean he's backing down!

    Archer

This battle is very simple. First attack him with all you've got (i.e. FlameRP, E. Key), and he should die pretty quick. If he gets off an attack vs. you, it'll do around 10-20HP damage. You gain 840EP/270GP for winning.

    Afterwards

Head down the staircase. You'll be stopped downstairs when you try to advance quite a ways. Turn around and face your enemy.

    Archer/Spearman

This is basically the same as the past battles you had fought. Both hit anywhere from 8-20HP damage. Finish them off quickly, and grab your reward of 1378EP/676GP upon victory.

    Afterwards

Go up the staircase you see to the east. Upstairs, heal up, and when you're ready, head south. You'll encounter the Knight you fought earlier. He'll comment on your skill, and turn into the Squid.

    Squid

Squid is very fast, not to mention having a good attack. He usually attacks everyone with his 'spit' attack, doing around 15-30HP damage. His lone attack, which he uses rarely, deals over 25HP damage vs. one party member. Nina's healing will come in handy if someone gets dropped below 50HP. If everyone gets hurt, down to 50HP, then have them heal the following round, one by one. However, you could use Meat if you have it. Nina should cast Fort on everyone, and concentrate on healing and using effect items to attack (i.e. FlameRP, E. Key). Karn should keep using FlameRP until Nina is done fortifying the group, then have him switch to the E. Key, while Nina uses the FlameRP. Ryu should transform into the ThrDr, and then use Mrbl1 or just attack. Bo should stick to Fry, and replenish when necessary. The Squid is weak vs. lightning, so Bo's Fry and Ryu's ThrDr attack should do a bit more damage than usual. Once he reaches his second wind, "Squid got mad", his attack raises slightly. However, one more round of attacking is all it takes to finish off this boss. You gain 7804EP/5463GP for winning.

    !!!!Victory!!!!

The Knight will acknowledge his defeat, and warn you that his brother will seek revenge. After that, he will perish. Before heading back to Auria and telling the Captain about your victory over the Dark Dragons, search the drawer you see for a V. Ptn. The treasure hunting isn't over yet. Head east, down the staircase, and open the chests for 2 Acorns and 2 Herbs. That's all the goodies you can grab here, so when you think you're set, head back to Auria.

    Auria

You should head on over to the Item Shop and buy a handful of Mrbl1s (as many as you can afford), as well as Acorns and Herbs. Rest up, and be sure to save. It's recommended you head to a town with a storage place, and store your money, as well. When you're ready, head on over to the dock and talk to the Captain at the end. You'll be congratulated and automatically be taken back to the Dark Dragon Ship.

    Ready to Set Sail

A scene involving the party, Ross, Ross's daughter, and the Captain will take place. Karn will wonder if he can tag along, which the Captain answers with a definate "yes". Just when the boat is about to take off, a voice comes yelling from the opposite end. Gobi, the fish merchant, comes around and asks you to drop him off at Prima. Although Nina isn't sure, and Bo doesn't care, he is taken along anyway. The sail of the ship is then hoisted, Ross and his daughter bid you farewell, and the anchor is lifted. The ship is then shown sailing across the sea on the world map, and everything seems to be going well. After awhile, a shot from somewhere will ring out, and the ship will stop. It seems you have company!

    Dark Dragon's Revenge

    Highlights

    Octo

It's the Dark Dragons, and it sounds like they're angry! Back on the ship, Gobi is running around, panicking, and Karn suggests to attack the enemy. However the Captain suggests the opposite- retreat. Nina will then step in, and question what will happen to Auria if they do such a thing. Before you guys can talk things over, the Dark Dragons land on your ship! The General leading the fleet appears to be angered at the fact you beat his brother. He threatens you to give up the key. Just then, Gobi suggests to use the gunpowder below deck to blow up the ship, along with the Dark Dragons. However, Nina seems a bit hesitant on the matter. The General will then command his soldiers to attack you!

    Archer/Spearman/Archer

Your party may be disordered, but the people placed in the back earlier are still there. Have Ryu attack, while Bo uses Fry. Karn should use the FlameRP, and replace it with the E. Key after Nina is done casting Fort on everyone. The Archer's and Spearman's attacks can hit around 12-20HP damage vs. one character, so heal if your HP gets down to 60 or so. Overall, this battle isn't too tough. You gain a rewarding 2107EP/910GP for winning.

    Afterwards

The General will be nowhere in sight. Gobi will then tell you that escaping is recommended, and heads down the staircase. The party will automatically follow him. Halfway downstairs, you'll be stopped yet again by the General, along with some more soldiers. They aren't letting you go without a fight, so give it to them!

    ArcherX3

This is very similar to the past battle fought. Ryu should use the Rang, while Karn uses the E. Key (unless Nina isn't using the FlameRP). Nina should attack right off the bat with the FlameRP. Bo should simply attack or use Fry. The Archers can hit anywhere from 12-18HP damage. If your HP gets below 50, heal up. The battle may go slow, but you'll win eventually. You gain 2185EP/702GP upon victory.

    Afterwards

You'll automatically appear in another room. Then the party will head downstairs, into the gunpowder storage room. It seems the General has finally trapped you. His two Archers will attack first.

    ArcherX2

This battle is not too difficult, but make sure to be in good condition before the fight ends. Have Ryu use the Rang, while Karn uses the E. Key, if Nina isn't using the FlameRP. Bo should use Fry as usual, and Nina should use the FlameRP. When your opponent's HP gets down to their minimum, heal your AP and HP, and then finish them off to gain 1456EP/468GP.

    Afterwards!

Before you know what is happening, the General will transform into Octo and attack you!

    Octo

Octo is just like Squid, except with a handful of more HP and a supposedly better attack. His speed, however, is not that great. This, added to the fact Octo attacks rarely with an all hit attack, makes him an easy boss. Like Squid, he is weak vs. lightning. Karn should use the FlameRP, while Nina fortfies everyone. Bo should cast Fry, and Ryu should turn into ThrDr, and use all the Mrbl1s he has, and then just attack. Octo's hits can do 12-20HP damage vs. your characters. Heal if your HP gets below 60, and keep hitting him, round after round. He'll eventually get down to his second wind, "Octo started crying". His attack then increases greatly! Finish him off by hitting him with a full round of attack. You gain 7218EP/1804GP for winning this battle.

    EXPLOSION

The General will then be destroyed, but leave behind a fireworks display which lights the gunpowder! The party will then quickly run up the stairs and jump off the ship. In the nick of time, the ship will explode, destroying the other Dark Dragon Ships. Gobi will comment on how great the explosion was, but soon after, a whirlpool will suck the party in....

    Stranded

You'll wake up on an island. Gobi will comment on how everyone is lucky to be alive. He'll then say Prima is around the place where you are located. He'll offer to sell you the gills, a tool used to breath underwater, for 1,000,000GP. You must say yes, even though you don't have that much money. He'll comment on how you don't have enough money, but offer to take the money you have now, and loan you the rest later. You have no choice but to say yes. Gobi will then promise to be back soon, and set off. Prepare to journey with Gobi to Prima, the underwater city!
