Scattered across the world map, there are trees containing fruit. Ox has the ability to walk up to these certain trees and punch them with his fist. Usually, Ox will yell out in pain, and nothing will drop from the tree. Occassionally, however, an apple will drop from the tree. This method is a pretty easy way to gather up free apples as extra healing items. It is time consuming, but useful if you like fruit. Punching a tree simply requires the Ox to be next to the tree, and then initiating the punch with the 'A button'. In dungeons and occasionally towns, instead of rocking trees, Ox can knock down weak walls as well as boulders with his fist. If an object of some sort is blocking your way, Ox may be the man you need to knock it down!
